Since 2016, the Hunterdon County Recovery Center, operated as a division of Prevention Resources, Inc., has diligently served individuals in all stages and phases of recovery from substance abuse.
In 2016, Prevention Resources, Inc. (PR), identified a community need for greater access to support systems, information, and other resources for persons in recovery from substance abuse. PR opened the Hunterdon County Recovery Center to help meet this need and further assist individuals in cultivating sustainable long-term recovery.
Hunterdon County Recovery Center is designed as a safe and welcoming environment, where attendees are given the opportunity to identify their specific recovery oriented goals and receive peer-based support. We provide opportunities for social networking, substance-free activities, peer-support groups, and linkage to further services. The Recovery Center is based out of PR’s Harvest Family Success Center (FSC), meaning all attendees have access to any of the social services and resources available through their agency.
All services, activities, and events provided ensure confidentiality and are at free or reduced cost to attendees.
With additional funding, the Recovery Center plans on offering expanded hours for those in crisis, as well as hosting additional programs, such as resume writing workshops, stress management groups, financial and career planning, and guidance on health care affordability.
