Abuse Intervention Program

Through the Abuse Intervention Program (AIP), Change is Possible!

The Abuse Intervention Program of Hunterdon, Middlesex, and Somerset Counties.

The Abuse Intervention Program (AIP) of Prevention Resources, Inc., plays a crucial role in breaking the cycle of abuse and control, promoting healing and recovery, and fostering healthy relationships.

Funded by the Department of Children and Families, the primary goal of the AIP is to protect the victim of domestic violence and maintain community safety while restoring the dignity of the referred participant.

Our commitment and collaboration across community partners and individuals creates a tailored response with proven successful outcomes and progress toward change. We work with a Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Team, consisting of clinicians, case managers, treatment victim advocates, and community partners to create a consensus on participant progress throughout the program.

AIP encompasses the following:

  • Treatment modalities aimed at addressing and preventing abusive and controlling behaviors among individuals who have caused harm in their intimate relationships;
  • Guiding principles that respond to needs and strengths of participants to provide individualized services;
  • Education, counseling, and support with the goal of breaking the cycle and promoting healthier relationships;
  • Collaborative community response, ensuring services are survivor-centered and support the participant’s engagement, accountability, and progress toward change.

Every county has an AIP Provider. If you would like to reach the AIP team at Prevention Resources, please contact the following staff:
