Karen is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Prevention Resources. She has been working in the non-profit sector for her entire career, first in treatment for 15 years, and in prevention for the last 8 years. Karen received her Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University and is a Certified Prevention Specialist. Karen graduated from a two year Ethical Leadership Fellows Program in 2013 that speaks to her continual desire to provide cutting edge services. Karen strongly believes that prevention and early intervention is the key to minimizing many societal problems.

Karen has been with Prevention Resources for 18 years and has navigated the growth of the agency from a small, single county and focus agency to one with four divisions and serving four counties. Karen believes in serving the community both individually and as an agency. Prevention Resources has received many community awards, and the most recent is from the New Jersey Narcotics Association for Community Leadership. Personally, Karen has served on the Boards of the YMCA, Hunterdon Helpline, Education Foundation, and served as Chairman of the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce. Karen is Past President of the Rotary Club of Flemington and received its highest awards as Rotarian of the Year and a Paul Harris Fellow. Karen received the Chamber Chairman’s Award in 2008 and was Women and Community Business Leader in 2012. Currently, Karen serves as secretary to Flemington Rotary, Vice Chair of the Chamber Foundation, and President of the Flemington Area Food Pantry. Karen enjoys time with family and friends, the beach, and her three adopted fur babies: Adopt Don’t Shop!!!
